...I have discovered it. 11:30 at night, in the country, traveling 20-30 minutes to the hospital, rushing to the emergency room, because my daughter hurt her arm under my watch....so I feel horrible inside.

I'll update with more info as I get it.

Update: still waiting my X-rays to come back, but she's moving her arm and smiling. Good sign.

Update update: she popped her right elbow's radial out. Apparently we popped it back in without realizing it. My girl is a trooper, sort of proud of her; that pain couldn't of been easy.

Kids get hurt, not the end of the world. Hope she's alright, though!

Im sure as a parent, your natural reaction is guilt, but unless it was straight up neglect then you have to realize that these things happen. Be mentally prepared though, because they will batter you with accusatory questions. When I broke my leg, that's what they did to my mom. I literally had to take a hold of the guy (while I was in the ambulence in excruciating pain no less) and tell him that it was an accident and my fault. Just be ready man.

While it sucks, hopefully this will create good memories for the two of you in the future. Injuries, I see them as learning the world around you and that you're not invincible.
God I really don't sound like I'm 16 do I?

I was trying to change her clothes, and the way I moved her could of been better. Her arm got caught under her body or something. She's getting X-rays right now.

But your right, kids get hurt. This is my first time going to the hospital with her, first time as a patent too (she's 1.5 it's old), so naturally I'm a bit frantic inside. Trying to keep calm inside. I know this won't be the last time visiting here....

Naw, you sound like someone who has a lot of "memories", :).

My mom, who came with us, told me that social services might visit. I say, let them come. As long as my daughter is ok, I'll be content. I feel bad, but it wasn't neglect.

I did learn not to jump over the railing of a deck, broke my arm doing that. I've had my fair share of painful incidents. I'll do crazy stuff but I'm not going to risk possible death. I enjoy life too much to put myself in a spot where I could end up dead.

Good. Be truthful, be respectful, but don't let them disrespect you.

Yeah, but she's better now. Her radial popped out, but popped back in. My girl is gonna be tough as nails, I can feel it.

My mom, who came with is, noted that the last time I was in the hospital was when I shattered my shoulder, 10+ years ago. Tried to bunny hop over a handicap ramp. Obviously didn't make it.

Funny part is, is that I was in marching band at the time, I played trombone, :),

Sounds like that was fun. Nice to hear it's not that serious either. Could've been way worse.

For my shoulder? Eh, I have permanent damage to it, it'll be like that for the rest of my life. Loss of range in motion, can't lift anything heavy, will never be able to throw a straight punch; you get use to it. I actually still have that bike, Dyno GT Compe.

Sorry, I guess that one was kind of confusing. The first part was kind of a sarcastic response about your shoulder and the second was in response to your updates.

Glad to hear she's okay! Kids are tough - they're still "juicy", unlike us old, dried out and brittle folks...

Thanks. Right after the x-ray, after the bone was popped back in somehow, she was all smiles and giggles; like nothing was every wrong. She makes me proud, how she quickly got over the pain, :).

Ha, wasn't sure, so I took a gamble. I gambled wrong. Plus, when we left for the hospital it was around the time I usually head to bed, so I was tired.

Thanks though, I greatly appreciate it.

Thanks. I had my mom drive me home, I really didn't want to deal with focusing so hard on the road.
